Event Nation worked with its client, Weli Cultural Alliance, to launch ‘Ice Age – The Lost Kingdom’, conceptualise Europe’s first ever touring Ice Age themed, family attraction. We developed the concept, produced the whole event and show content, then devised the take-to-market strategy. The event was to be pure edutainment, both highly educational for children and entertaining for families, positioned as an unforgettable day out for all.
To enhance the visitor experience we included an education marquee showing cinema screenings of Ice Age documentaries and educational information panels next to all 40 life-size animatronic Ice Age beasts. We also developed an Ice Age App for visitors to use onsite to scan all QR codes and collect extra educational information and images about each beast. Other activities included an Ice Age VR experience, an excavation pit for children to dig up a fossil and a merchandise trailer selling Ice Age related merchandise.
We launched ‘Ice Age – The Lost Kingdom’ at Birmingham Botanical Gardens during Easter 2019. It then goes on a UK parks tour across major UK cities including, Glasgow, Manchester, Nottingham and Leeds.
